Are you going to the NCSS Annual Conference in Atlanta November 13-15? If so, are there any particular clinics, sessions, or meetings you plan to attend? Any keynote or featured speakers you really want to hear?
I'll be there as will other NCSS Community Network members. Would you like to meet up informally at some point during the conference? If folks are interested I'll organize a get-together.
Tom - I will be in attendance at Atlanta - my 12th conference. I am always looking for some content-specific presentations (I teach US to 8th graders) and some interesting technology integration sessions. I also hope to find some content reading sessions and presentations on discussion strategies. Eric Foner is on my must see list .. unfortunately, I will be missing Congressman Lewis. My colleagues and I will also be seeing the hot historical spots in Atlanta.
I'm always interested in meeting new colleagues and talking shop. Please keep us updated on any possible get-together!
Why don't you ask for a table at the poster session, and let us know the schedule so those of us who are most actively involved can staff it? I think it would be a great way to share and build the network.

I will be leading a workshop at this year's conference. The workshop is titled "Living in a Nuclear Age: Considering Policy Alternatives" and will feature curriculum developed by the Choices Program, which takes a very student-centered approach by engaging students in role-play activities and inquiry. Hope to see some of you there.
I am thinking of attending NCSS for the first time. Was wondering if anyone has any hints on an inexpensive places to stay or if any females are looking for a roommate. Would also like to meetup with others since I would be on my own.
I will be there Thursday-Sunday and am SO excited! I haven't mapped out all the sessions I plan to attend. I will be there with our TAH group and we are planning to divide and conquer. Would love to meet people outside of my tiny network!! :-)
I will be there - it's my first time! I am so excited! I was just elected to serve on the SCCSS board and believe I am meeting with them at some point - but would love to meet up with other community members. I look forward to seeing Greg Mortenson.
