Millions of Life Magazine Images Online

A boon to researchers and educators, Google has opened up the Life magazine photo archives to the tune of two million photos, dating from the 1750s to today. It plans to enter all 10 million images from Life's photo library and they can be viewed by anyone on the Internet.

Google said they can be printed for free as long as they are not being used to make money.

Google's "Ancient Rome-3D" Simulation

Google recently introduced "Ancient Rome 3-D," a 3D simulation of the ancient city in 320 A.D. The project was developed in collaboration with researchers at the University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Virginia and took 10 years to complete!

In 320 A.D. (320 C.E.) Rome was at the height of its power as the capital of the Roman Empire and was the world's largest city, with more than one million people. This Google Earth layer allows users to fly around the city… Continue
